Khour Al-Deera is the vision of the founder and chairman of Bukhamseen Group Holding Company, Mr. Jawad Ahmed Bukhamseen, to transform Kuwait City into a world class tourist destination. The main feature of the project is the creation of a canal along the First Ring Road; connecting from the Kuwait Towers to the Kuwait Oil Complex. The land on both sides of the canal is to be used for recreation, parks and leisure, festival villages, water worlds, marinas, cultural spaces and facilities like retail, commercial, restaurants, food courts, hotels, cinemas, amphitheater, apartments and entertainment. The canal shall be deep enough so that visitors can enjoy boat rides from one end to another.
